Creating Connections: Mental Health & COVID-19

As many regions of Canada contend with second and third waves of COVID-19 infections, mental health considerations are top of mind for everyone. Please join us Thursday January 28 from 5:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. for the first WiDS Creating Connections virtual event of 2021 that will focus on the mental health of our heroes working in the defence and security industries as First Responders and Public Safety Personnel (PSP).

We are honoured to welcome Dr. Alexandra Heber, Chair, COVID-19 Leadership Task Force, and Chief Psychiatrist with Veterans Affairs Canada who will speak about the COVID-19 Readiness Resource Project. Joining us as well, Lorraine Downey, a paramedic with the City of Ottawa, who will describe the unique peer support mental health program delivered in partnership with the city’s police and fire services. There will be a Q&A session following the presentation  moderated by Graciela Pelayo from General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada.
