Mentorship Program

Join the next cohort of the Women in Defence and Security (WiDS) National Mentoring Program, a 9-month, virtual journey designed to equip emerging professionals with the insight, confidence and connections they need to thrive.

From September 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027, selected mentees will be grouped in a dynamic trio model: one seasoned mentor paired with two mentees for monthly virtual sessions. These conversations will focus on real-world challenges, goal-setting, and navigating career growth across both public and private sectors.

Whether you're a student exploring your path or a junior professional looking to level up, this program offers meaningful guidance from women who’ve been there and want to help you go further.

How It Works - Please ensure you are registering correctly as a MENTEE or MENTOR

MENTEES: Once registered, mentees will receive a brief intake form requesting information regarding their current role, areas of interest, and career aspirations. This information is critical to helping WiDS create meaningful and effective mentor matches.

Once you’re registered, please ensure your intake form is completed in full by the deadline. Applicants with incomplete forms will receive a refund and will not be eligible to participate in the program.

MENTORS: Mentor participation will be determined based on the number, interests, and professional needs of mentee applicants. While we greatly appreciate your interest, participation cannot be guaranteed, as successful matches will depend on mentee demand and compatibility considerations.  Mentors are asked to commit to volunteering a minimum of 1 hour/month from September to May to connect with their mentees.  There is no registration cost for mentors, just the completed Mentor Application Form.
